For years now, the Hyundai Tucson has dominated the SUV landscape thanks to its eclectic mix of powerful engine options and a robust list of features. In 2022, the Tucson gets an update with a slick-looking exterior with a cascading front light signature, squared wheel arches, and extremely bold creases. Inside the Tucson, you will find soft materials and all the latest tech, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are also several advanced driving aids such as lane centering assist and toward collision warning. We have so much to talk about when it comes to the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. Continue reading as we tell you about all it offers!

Gas. Performance and efficiency.

TUCSON's bigger 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder gas engine gives you more power with an estimated 187 hp and 182 lb.-ft. of torque.

Plug-in Hybrid. Best of both worlds.

Electric when you want it. Gas when you need it. TUCSON Plug-in Hybrid's 1.6L turbocharged engine with 13.8kWh battery power charges in just under two hours. And with standard HTRAC All Wheel Drive and all-electric drive mode, the TUCSON Plug-in Hybrid is a win-win.

Large Interior

Step inside TUCSON and you'll be welcomed by a spacious, streamlined space that takes care of you. Intelligently designed with intuitive innovations, premium amenities, and larger cargo space-everything's thoughtfully arranged with you in mind.

Park at the Push of a Button

Remote Smart Parking Assist can help you out with a tough parking situation without you even being inside the TUCSON. Just press the Smart Key button while standing outside the vehicle, and you can remotely park it into a tight spot. Another push of the button and it easily drives out of the parking space.

10.25-Inch Touchscreen Display

The available hi-res 10.25-inch touchscreen display with navigation is a tablet-like screen that's elegantly integrated into the waterfall-inspired center stack.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

No more charging cords. With this class-exclusive feature, you can use your favorite mobile apps on the Tucson's touchscreen by wirelessly connecting your smartphone via Bluetooth.

Smart Cruise Control

While traveling at a speed set by you, it uses radar to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead. When your Hyundai slows down to 6 mph or less, the cruise control automatically turns off. The cruise control also intelligently reactivates if the vehicle in front of you starts moving again within three seconds of stopping.

Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist

If your Hyundai detects a vehicle in your blind spot while your turning signal is on, it will alert you with an audio and visual warning and automatically apply the breaks if necessary.

What's under the hood of the 2022 Tucson?

Hyundai continues to provide drivers with a ton of power with the 2022 Tucson. Most trims come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that pumps out an impressive 190 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque, which mates with an eight-speed automatic transmission. As usual with Hyundai vehicles, there is also a hybrid variant. The hybrid is a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine with an electric motor and delivers 226 horsepower with 258 lb-ft of torque. The plug-in hybrid option is a touch more powerful as it can make an astounding 260 horsepower. Both the hybrid and the plug-in hybrid also use an eight-speed automatic.

Can you talk about the Tucson's tech?

We sure can! The Hyundai Tucson has always been known for its impressive tech, and the 2022 version is no different. Most will come with an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while higher trims see a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Another piece of valuable tech is that you can start your Tuscon with your phone on several Android devices that have near-field communication technology. One of the best things about the Tucson is the number of safety features it has with such advanced systems as lane keeping assist, lane centering assist, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. There is also an available Blind-Spot Monitor which can tap the brakes if you enter a lane with another vehicle traveling in it. The system can even stop the car if it spots a pedestrian in the road.

What can you tell me about the Tucson's interior?

Upscale doesn't even begin to describe the Tucson's interior as there are several highlights, including a frameless digital instrument panel, a buttonless center stack, and 64-color ambient lighting. While there are plenty of bells and whistles to go around, you can also admire the curved lines that go from the door to the dash and give the front of the vehicle a dual-cockpit feel. The inside is also incredibly roomy, thanks to a 3-inch bump in legroom and headroom between the rows.
